About the Summit

The Competitiveness & Security Business Summit 2025, organised 100 days after the inauguration of the European Commission and shortly after the planned publication of the Clean Industrial Deal, will serve as a timely opportunity to discuss the challenges and prospects for European business in the light of the newly proposed Commission's approach to enhancing competitiveness of the European Union. The Summit will take place under the official patronage of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The main theme of the event – security and competitiveness – will be the starting point for a debate divided into five sections:
During the panel discussion titled ‘What does it take to innovate?’, speakers will share their companies' innovation success stories and discuss how to create a supportive environment for innovation through regulatory frameworks, government incentives, and fostering collaboration between businesses, research institutions, and start-ups.
During the panel discussion titled ‘Pillars of EU’s Common Future: Competitiveness and Economic Security’, topics will include affordable energy for industry, reducing external dependencies, industrial policies, supporting energy-intensive industries and balancing climate policies with competitiveness, while ensuring resilient supply chains and securing economic independence.
During the panel discussion titled ‘Financing for the Future: Boosting Europe's Competitiveness’, the focus will be on EU investment mechanisms, public-private partnerships, strategic financing for clean and digital transitions, and enhancing capital markets to drive competitiveness and security.
During the panel discussion titled‘Economic Security: from the ground to cleantech and space’, the conversation will explore key aspects of the economic security, including reducing external dependency, supply chain diversification and circular economy strategies, with speakers from across the entire critical raw materials value chain.
During the panel discussion titled ‘Towards a Stronger & Secure Europe: Advancing EU Defence Readiness’, key discussions will center around enhancing EU defence capabilities, cybersecurity, military mobility, defence industry competitiveness, and promoting strategic autonomy for securing Europe's defence interests.
The event will gather high-level representatives from EU institutions, Polish and European business leaders, and representatives of economic and social organizations. The Summit will also provide an opportunity to showcase Poland’s innovative community as part of the ‘We did it in Poland’ campaign, commissioned by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland, of which Business & Science Poland is a strategic partner.
